Relax women. Stop celebrating. Kevin Samuels is not dead. I hear some women celebrating because they don’t like his crass, in-your-face style delivery when he critiques them. I hear others saying they still wouldn’t wish death on him even though they disagree with his views on relationships and women. I think that is the more noble approach to take. Don’t wish death on the man.

Being the man that I am, I thought Kevin Samuels had a crude and harsh delivery. But I was more entertained by it than anything. I always figured he did it for shock value, to bring attention and eyes on his podcast. And it worked. People came in droves to listen, either in agreement or disagreement. A lot of stuff he said was true to an extent. He might have harshly told some women that they won’t find a man because of their weight, looks, attitude, vaginal mileage, or their status as a single mother with multiple children. That’s true to an extent. It might be harder for those types of women to find a man. But anything is possible. As the saying goes, “there’s somebody for everybody.” But either way, there’s no need to celebrate his death if he offended you.

He used to harshly criticize men also. Telling them an absolute “truth” or sometimes more than likely “truth” in a harsh tone, based on their situation as well. The videos that had inclinations to get the most views always seemed to be the ones where women were the target. I never followed Kevin Samuels that closely. I am a casual observer of his content. So, I don’t know the percentage of how much he criticized men versus the number of times he criticized women. I just know the videos that came across my feeds and were sent to me by friends and family always were the ones where women were the target.

My instant reaction to seeing the videos were that he was doing it for shock value. Controversy sells. People love it. If he said stuff in a cordial and polite manner, he would not be as big as he is now. Something in me also thought maybe his videos were staged and some of the callers were actors and actresses that served as pawns for Samuels’ barbed wit. Sometimes, Kevin Samuels yells at his callers and talks exaggeratedly condescending to them and they just take it without responding back likewise. I would think at least some of them would spaz and ask, “who are you talking to?” But they just take it and shut up when Samuels’ commands them to. And sometimes the callers ask exaggeratedly dumb questions or sound exaggeratedly dumb. I’m aware that there are several dumb people in this world but got-damn. I can tell an authentic moron, from a prop to Samuel’s schtick as the tough, no-nonsense asshole.

There are other content producers of other subjects like politics, sports, social issues, and race politics that do the same thing. They talk disrespectful to the callers, and they take it. They don’t yell back, nor do they at least hang up the phone. They even stage their callers to ask softball questions that set them up for predictable and eloquent answers. Samuels’ does the same thing, only they ask questions to set him up for harsh criticism. Of course, this is all conjecture and speculation. I’m only saying what my instinct was when I first heard him. I could be wrong, but I doubt it.

My basic point is not to take Kevin Samuels too seriously. Just enjoy the WWE relationship show just as you do the WWE political theatre of some content producers on social media and mainstream television programming. And if Kevin Samuels is dead (which I hope not), RIP to him. If not, I look forward to more of the acting performance from him and his callers.
